Annual Football Blitz in Askeaton
The Senior Class had a fantastic day taking part in the annual blitz hosted by Coláiste Mhuire in Askeaton. The sun was shining, the atmosphere was lively, and our pupils gave it their all on the field. This much-loved event is a highlight of the school year, and one the children eagerly look forward to each year. Well done to everyone involved!

Fundamental Movement Skills with Ms. Farrelly
The junior pupils were developing essential fundamental movement skills (FMS) through an engaging session with Ms. Farrelly. These skills, such as running, jumping, throwing, and catching, are the building blocks for more complex motor skills and are crucial for overall physical development and coordination. Ms. Farrelly's fun and interactive approach makes learning these skills enjoyable for the children, fostering a love for physical activity that will benefit them throughout their lives.
Football Training with Limerick GAA
Our pupils had a fantastic time participating in football training facilitated by Limerick GAA! They enthusiastically practised their skills, from soloing and hand-passing to kicking and tackling, all under the guidance of experienced coach-Shane. The sessions were packed with energy, teamwork, and plenty of fun, as the children put their skills to the test in exciting games. Gymnastic Lessons with School Fitness
The children have been having a blast while learning gymnastics with Coach Brian from School Fitness! Each session has been filled with energy, laughter, and plenty of new skills. From mastering rolls and flips to building strength and flexibility, they’ve made incredible progress while having fun along the way. Coach Brian has created an environment where the kids feel supported, challenged, and motivated to push their limits. Division 4 Girls Football Competition 2024
Our girls' football team showcased incredible determination and team spirit as they competed in very cold and foggy conditions at Mick Neville Pitch in Rathkeale. Despite the challenging weather and tough competition, the team gave it their all, demonstrating great skill and sportmanship throughout. While the results didnt go our way this time, we couldnt be prouder of the effort and resillience shown by all the players. Well done to the teamfor representing our school with such dedication and heart.
Division 4 Boys Football Competition 2024
Our boys competed in the Division 4 Boys Competition. While the results didn't go our way, the boys gave it their all, showed great teamwork, and had plenty of fun along the way. We're so proud of their effort and determination. Well done boys!!
Congratulations to Our Equestrian Stars!
A huge well done to Cleo, Áine, Ríain, Saibh, Klara, and Ayda, who competed in the Clonshire Equestrian Competition! Our 60cm team placed 8th, and our 80cm team rode to a fantastic 2nd place! We are so proud of your dedication, teamwork, and hard work. Each of you represented our school with great spirit and skill—keep up the amazing work!
First-Ever Horse Riding Competition a Galloping Success!
On the 7th of October, our school made history with some of our talented riders participating in the first ever horse riding competition which was held in Maryville, Co. Cork. Students from the junior class and the senior class saddled up and showed off their equestrian skills. We're so proud of all our riders who participated and represented our school with such enthusiasm. The children received medals and rosettes for their efforts. A successful event wouldn't be possible without the support of our parents and family members. We'd like to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who helped make this competition a memorable experience.
Football Training
We are thrilled to offer football training as part of our extracurricular activities at Scoil Naomh Mhuire. It helps the children to develop key skills like teamwork, coordination, and sportsmanship while having fun on the field. It is a fantastic way for the children to stay active and build confidence.
Swimming Lessons at Ballybunnion Leisure Centre
We are delighted to share that our pupils recently completed a series of swimming lessons at Ballybunnion Leisure Centre. Over the course of several weeks, the children showed tremendous enthusiasm, progress, and skill in the water.
From learning water safety to practicing different strokes, each child had the opportunity to grow in confidence and ability under the guidance of experienced instructors. Swimming is not only a valuable life skill but also a fantastic way for our students to stay active and healthy.
A big congratulations to all the children for their hard work and dedication. We are so proud of their achievements, and we look forward to more swimming adventures in the future!
