Bí Cineálta-Procedures to Prevent and Address Bullying Behaviour for Primary and Post Primary Schools
We are pleased to announce the introduction of the new Bí Cinéalta procedures, designed to prevent and address bullying behaviour across both primary and post-primary schools. These updated procedures, which will come into effect from the next school year 2025/2026, emphasise creating a positive and supportive environment where all students feel safe and valued. With a focus on promoting kindness, respect, and inclusion, the Bí Cinéalta initiative encourages proactive approaches to prevent bullying and provides clear, effective steps to address any incidents that may arise.
We are committed to ongoing improvement and are currently reviewing and updating our anti-bullying procedures. In the coming weeks, we will be engaging in a collaborative process with students, staff, and parents to gather input and develop comprehensive policies that effectively address bullying and promote a positive school climate. We will share updates on this important initiative as they become available.

We are pleased to announce that the Board of Management has officially ratified the implementation of the revised national anti-bullying Policy, "Bí Cineálta" (Be Kind), which will take effect from September 2025. This updated policy reflects our ongoing commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all members of our school community.
"Bí Cineálta" emphasises proactive measures, education, and support to prevent bullying and address any incidents effectively and compassionately. We believe that by promoting kindness, empathy, and understanding, we can empower our pupils to be positive contributors and create a school culture where everyone feels valued and secure.
Further details regarding the implementation of "Bí Cineálta" will be shared with students, parents, and staff in the coming months. November’s ‘Bí Cineálta’ Medal Winners!
At Scoil Naomh Mhuire, kindness is just as important as our schoolwork. We are thrilled to announce the winners of our November ‘Bí Cineálta’ (Be Kind) medals: Jack and Pawel.
Junior Room: Jack A huge well done to Jack! He earned his medal for being a fantastic friend to everyone. Whether he is sharing toys or looking out for his classmates, Jack always leads with a smile and lovely manners.
Senior Room: Pawel Congratulations to Pawel in the Senior Room. Pawel has been recognised for his maturity and leadership. He always ensures everyone is included in games and treats others with total respect, acting as a great role model for the younger pupils.
We are incredibly proud of both boys for showing us the power of kindness. Maith sibh!

We are thrilled to shine a spotlight on two outstanding pupils who have demonstrated the true spirit of kindness and respect, earning the October Bí Cineálta Medals.
A massive well done to both Tommy and Amaia!
The Bí Cineálta (Be Kind) Medals are awarded to pupils who consistently show exemplary behaviour in line with the school's commitment to a safe, happy, and inclusive environment. This initiative celebrates those who go the extra mile to be supportive friends, thoughtful classmates, and overall positive members of the school community.
Tommy and Amaia have been recognised this month for embodying the core values of the Bí Cineálta ethos. Their actions serve as a wonderful example to all their peers, illustrating how small acts of kindness can make a big difference in someone's day.
Whether it was:
Helping a classmate with a tricky task.
Making sure someone felt included in a game.
Consistently showing good manners and respect to staff and pupils.
